Agilysys: 3 Key Takeaways for Long-Term Investors

November 5, 2026 · by TPW Pipeline

On its fiscal 2027 second-quarter earnings call, held on Oct. 26, 2026, Agilysys (AGYS +1.77%) announced that it raised full-year guidance driven by accelerating subscription revenue growth and record sales levels. The hospitality software provider is expanding its multi-product sales, winning large property management system replacements, and embedding artificial intelligence tools across its cloud platform.

Three things management said stand out.

1. Product Ecosystem Expansion Drives Recurring Revenue

Subscription revenue rose 32.6% year over year as properties adopted broader suites of software. Customers purchasing property management system (PMS) software bought an average of 9.3 products per deal, demonstrating how product depth expands annual recurring revenue without high customer acquisition costs.

All this data continues to confirm the thesis that nothing drives enterprise software revenue performance like true meaningful sustained product innovation, which creates real value for customers and their guests.

2. Hotel and Resort Sales Reach Record Heights

Sales in the domestic Hotels, Resorts and Cruise ships (HRC) segment jumped 33% year over year, setting a quarterly record. A major multi-property competitive replacement featuring 15 add-on software modules highlighted gains from expanded sales capacity and market share capture from legacy rivals.

This was the best quarter on record by a fair distance for sales in the domestic HRC, Hotels, Resorts and Cruise ships vertical.

3. Artificial Intelligence Common Framework Strengthens Moat

Management completed an artificial intelligence common framework during the quarter to manage data governance, privacy tokenization, and compute model costs. Integrated cloud software allows the business to embed automated workflows and demand features that competitors running legacy code bases cannot easily match.

The new and modern code base of each of our software solutions and the very presence of a product ecosystem that no competitor matches up with today have allowed us to make AI-based features a seamless part of the product sets.
— Ramesh Srinivasan, President and Chief Executive Officer

Looking Ahead

Customer demand is accelerating across product lines, pushing management to raise full-year subscription revenue growth guidance to at least 34%. A modern technology stack and expanding sales team provide structural advantages as hotels replace legacy software, while management monitors deployment speeds and operating margin targets.

Subscription sales and backlog levels, while maintaining low customer churn have us trending ahead of the FY ’27 plan.
— Dave Wood, Chief Financial Officer

Operating in a market 50 times larger than its current size gives the business significant room for long-term growth through focused execution.

We are lucky to be operating in a total addressable market that is about 50x larger than our current size, and we intend to drive home that advantage with complete focus on hospitality and no distractions.
