Prediction: $5,000 Invested in Netflix Will Be Worth This Much by 2030

November 3, 2026 · by TPW Pipeline

Netflix (NFLX +0.05%) stock has struggled on many levels. The company’s failure to acquire the former Warner Bros. Discovery and its struggles to develop new content that interests viewers have weighed on the stock. Amid those challenges, the stock has fallen to 52-week lows, taking it back to 2024 levels.

That may draw the interest of retail investors looking to invest a sum like $5,000. Although we cannot know what the next four years will bring for the company, there are likely some reasons for optimism.

Investor considerations

Investors who put $5,000 in this communication stock four years ago are likely happy, at least for the most part. That investment would be worth about $10,560 today.

However, that stake in Netflix would have been worth over $22,500 in the middle of 2025. While investors can point to many problems that drove the share price down from there, it probably comes down to one challenge: competitive advantage.

Netflix was a first mover in the video streaming market, and even as new competitors entered, it employed a variety of strategies to maintain its edge. Unique content, global distribution, proprietary data, and an exclusive focus on streaming were among the attributes that kept Netflix ahead of the competition.

Unfortunately, the efforts of its peers have eroded many of these advantages over time. Even though Netflix has always overcome the odds, investors may wonder how it will stand out in the future.

Netflix’s path forward

Nonetheless, the one thing going for Netflix that the bears seem to have ignored is its revenue growth. Analysts are still predicting 13% revenue growth this year and 11% in 2027.

Assuming that it keeps up a similar pace, that would amount to an approximate 50% increase in total revenue over the next four years. If one figures that its profits will grow at the same rate, that by itself could increase the stock price by an equal percentage.

Investors also should factor in its current 18 P/E ratio, which is near a five-year low for the company. Considering that its competitive moat is less robust than it once was, it’s unlikely that its earnings multiple will return to the neighborhood of its five-year peak of 63. Still, if its P/E ratio recovers to the S&P 500 (^GSPC +0.28%) average of 26.5, that would mean an additional 47% increase in the stock price.

Hence, assuming that it delivers 11% annual revenue growth over four years and a P/E ratio consistent with the S&P 500, I estimate Netflix will trade at a price of around $139 per share in 2030.

At today’s prices, $5,000 buys about 80 shares. In 2030, I expect that the investment could be worth approximately $11,100.

Netflix over the next four years

Investors who invest $5,000 in Netflix stock now should profit significantly over the next four years.

Admittedly, I’m basing my expected values on consistent revenue and earnings growth and an average valuation. In reality, earnings growth will likely vary from year to year, and some of the pessimism surrounding the stock would have to fade for the stock to deliver.

However, analysts expect Netflix’s revenue growth to continue, and its current low P/E ratio is likely more connected to market emotion than fundamentals. Thus, even if my stock forecast proves to be not exactly on the money, the company’s financial growth and a more favorable valuation should boost Netflix stock over the next four years.
