IT services group Atos has been named an SAP Sovereign Cloud Partner, a designation the company says strengthens its long-running strategy around digital sovereignty — the principle that sensitive data and the workloads processing it should remain under the legal and operational control of the jurisdictions where they originate.

The recognition positions Atos to help clients deploy SAP workloads on sovereign cloud infrastructure, an area of growing demand among European public-sector organizations and regulated industries such as banking, healthcare, and energy. Enterprises in these sectors increasingly face regulatory pressure — from frameworks like GDPR to emerging EU data rules — that complicates reliance on hyperscale clouds operated from outside the region.
