Templafy Brings Document Agents to Claude, ChatGPT and Microsoft Copilot via MCP

Document management software maker Templafy announced new connectors that expose its Document Agents through the Model Context Protocol (MCP), making them accessible directly inside major AI assistants including Anthropic’s Claude, OpenAI’s ChatGPT, and Microsoft’s Copilot. The move is aimed at letting professionals generate controlled, deployment-ready documents from within the AI tools they already use.

MCP is an open protocol that allows large language model assistants to connect with external software and data sources. By building on it, Templafy positions its document generation capabilities alongside the conversational interfaces where increasing amounts of knowledge work now begin, rather than requiring users to switch to a separate application.

The company says the connectors are designed to keep document creation under governance controls — meaning templates, brand assets, and compliance rules enforced by Templafy remain in force even when the drafting happens inside a third-party AI assistant. That “controlled, ready-to-use” framing speaks to a common enterprise concern: that generative AI tools produce content that drifts from approved formats, legal language, or corporate identity.

The Copilot integration ties the announcement to one of the most widely deployed enterprise AI assistants. Microsoft has pushed Copilot across its Microsoft 365 suite, where document workflows are concentrated. Shares of Microsoft Corporation traded at $491.65 recently, down 0.32% from a previous close of $493.25, valuing the Software – Infrastructure company at roughly $3.71 trillion.

Templafy’s announcement arrives amid a broader race among software vendors to make their products “agent-ready” — reachable not just through their own interfaces but through whichever AI assistant a customer’s workforce prefers. For document-heavy functions like legal, sales, and marketing, the pitch is that AI can accelerate drafting while the underlying system of record retains control over the final output.
