Cascade AI Enters Microsoft for Startups Pegasus Program, Brings IT and HR Support Agent to Teams

Enterprise AI startup Cascade AI has been accepted into the Microsoft for Startups Pegasus Program, a selective tier of Microsoft’s startup initiative, and is using the partnership to launch its IT and HR support agent inside Microsoft Teams, the company announced.

The Pegasus Program is designed to help early-stage companies accelerate product development and go-to-market efforts by providing access to Microsoft’s technology resources, sales channels, and ecosystem of enterprise customers. For Cascade AI, membership means its workplace support agent can now be deployed directly within Teams, the collaboration platform used by millions of employees at organizations worldwide.

Cascade AI’s agent targets a common pain point in large organizations: internal help desks for IT and human resources. By embedding its assistant into Teams, where employees already spend much of their workday, the company aims to reduce ticket volumes and resolution times without requiring users to switch tools. The approach aligns with a broader wave of startups building domain-specific AI agents that sit inside established productivity suites rather than as standalone applications.

The launch also underscores Microsoft’s strategy of cultivating an AI startup ecosystem around its own platforms. Through programs like Pegasus, the Redmond-based company gives emerging vendors technical support and distribution while reinforcing the position of Teams, Azure, and its productivity tools as the default environment for enterprise AI deployments.

Microsoft Corporation (NASDAQ: MSFT) traded at $491.65 in recent activity, down 0.32% from its previous close of $493.25, giving the company a market capitalization of roughly $3.71 trillion. The software infrastructure giant has increasingly positioned itself as a launchpad for AI companies, and partnerships of this kind give startups like Cascade AI a credible path into enterprise accounts that might otherwise be difficult for young vendors to reach.

For Cascade AI, the immediate test will be converting program access into paying enterprise customers. Support automation remains one of the most active categories in enterprise AI, with competition intensifying as both startups and established software vendors ship agentic tools for internal service desks.

What to watch

  • Cascade AI’s customer announcements following the Pegasus onboarding, particularly any named enterprise deployments within Teams.
  • Microsoft’s next quarterly earnings report, which may offer updates on AI ecosystem and startup program momentum.
  • Broader product roadmap signals from Cascade AI, including potential expansion beyond IT and HR support use cases.
