CoreWeave has introduced a new offering called Physical AI Field Engineering, an unusual service model in the cloud computing world. Rather than simply renting out GPU capacity, the company will deploy its own engineers on-site at client facilities to help build artificial intelligence systems that interact with the physical world.
The target customers are companies in automotive, aerospace, and robotics — industries where AI must contend with sensors, machinery, and real-world physics rather than clean digital datasets. Training large language models on text is one thing; getting an AI system to understand how a car part is manufactured or how a rocket engine behaves is another. The new service is designed to bridge that gap, pairing AI specialists with engineers who understand the hardware but may lack machine learning expertise.
The move signals a broader push by cloud providers to move AI beyond software and into industrial applications, a space often described as “physical AI.” It also deepens the relationship between CoreWeave and its enterprise clients, embedding the company’s expertise directly into manufacturing workflows.

CoreWeave’s announcement comes as its shares trade under pressure. The stock closed at $89.16 previously and was recently trading at $83.84, down 5.97%, valuing the cloud infrastructure company at roughly $48.4 billion. As a newcomer among publicly traded AI infrastructure providers, CoreWeave has been working to differentiate itself from hyperscale cloud rivals through specialized services and its NVIDIA-based platform.
That platform connection matters for NVIDIA, whose chips underpin much of CoreWeave’s data center buildout. Services that expand the practical uses of AI — including factory-floor and robotics applications — tend to increase demand for the accelerated computing hardware NVIDIA sells.
