Roblox unveils a slate of creator-focused features at its 2026 developer conference

Roblox used its annual Roblox Developers Conference (RDC) to announce a broad set of new platform features, continuing its push to deepen its creator ecosystem and expand what developers can build on the platform.

The company, which operates one of the largest user-generated content platforms in gaming, regularly uses RDC as the stage for its biggest product reveals. This year’s announcements signal continued investment in the tools and monetization options available to the developers and studios who populate the platform with experiences.

Roblox shares rose following the news, trading up 4.44% at $43.31, well above the previous close of $41.47. The company commands a market capitalization of roughly $25.75 billion and sits in the Communication Services sector within the Electronic Gaming & Multimedia industry.

The developer conference has historically been a key event for the company, as its business model depends heavily on third-party creators who build the experiences that drive user engagement. Announcements at past editions of RDC have covered everything from new monetization mechanics to advances in the company’s avatar and creation tooling, including Roblox Studio, its free development toolset.

Roblox has been working to broaden its audience beyond its historically young user base and to increase the earning potential of its top creators — two goals that typically shape the feature rollouts debuted at the conference. The company has also been investing in technologies intended to make building on the platform faster and more accessible to creators of varying skill levels.

Details on the timing of each feature’s general availability, along with any changes to developer payouts, will likely be key points of interest for the creator community as the announcements move from the conference stage to live production.

What to watch

  • Rollout timelines for the newly announced features and how quickly creators adopt them
  • Roblox’s next quarterly earnings report, where management typically discusses engagement and bookings trends
  • Any updates on developer earnings and monetization program changes stemming from the RDC announcements
