Disclosure Shows Trump-Linked Accounts Sold Palantir and Meta Shares in June

A periodic transaction disclosure filed with the Office of Government Ethics reveals that brokerage accounts tied to President Trump executed 1,051 trades during June. The accounts are administered by third-party financial institutions, so the sales do not reflect direct trading decisions by the President himself.

Among the positions trimmed were shares of two prominent artificial intelligence-associated companies: Palantir Technologies and Meta Platforms. Both names have been among the most closely followed AI plays in the market, making the discretionary sales notable to observers tracking institutional and political portfolios.

Where the two stocks stand now

Palantir, which builds software platforms used by intelligence and defense customers, including the Gotham platform deployed in counterterrorism work in the United States, the United Kingdom, and elsewhere, recently changed hands at $169.53, down 0.64% from its prior close of $170.62. The company carries a market capitalization of roughly $407.4 billion and sits in the technology sector’s software-infrastructure group.

Meta Platforms, the parent of Facebook, Instagram, and WhatsApp and a maker of VR headsets and AI glasses, traded at $616.77, up 0.47% from a previous close of $613.88. Its market cap stands near $1.50 trillion, placing it among the largest companies in the communication services sector’s internet content and information industry.

Commentators have noted that June transactions have limited bearing on current positioning, and sell-side coverage of both companies has generally leaned favorable, with many Wall Street analysts rating the shares positively despite this year’s AI-driven run-ups.

Why political disclosures draw attention

Presidential financial disclosures routinely attract scrutiny because markets attempt to read signal into the trading activity of politically connected accounts, even when a blind trust structure or third-party manager is in place. In this case, the sheer volume of trades — more than a thousand in a single month — suggests routine portfolio rebalancing rather than a single directional thesis.
