Asus Slashes Price on High-End 4K QD-OLED Gaming Monitor

A significant price reduction is currently active for the Apple Inc. competitor’s premium display. The Asus ROG Swift 32-inch 4K QD-OLED gaming monitor is now listed at $899.99, a substantial decrease from its standard $1,299.99 price tag. This discount represents a $400 reduction and is available through major retailers including Amazon.com, Inc., Best Buy, and B&H Photo.

The PG32UCDMR model utilizes QD-OLED technology to deliver deep black levels and vivid color reproduction that exceeds typical LCD capabilities. Designed for high-performance gaming, the monitor features a 240Hz refresh rate and G-Sync compatibility to eliminate screen tearing. Connectivity options are comprehensive, including DisplayPort 2.1, two HDMI 2.1 ports, and a USB-C port with DisplayPort alt mode supporting 90W power delivery. Additionally, the unit includes a proximity sensor to power down the display when the user steps away, helping to mitigate burn-in risks. Asus backs the panel with a three-year warranty covering burn-in under normal usage conditions.

Market timing for this promotion suggests a strategic inventory adjustment. The discount follows a month-long pricing trend for July and appears to coincide with the manufacturer’s focus shifting toward a newer generation of hardware. Asus recently introduced a successor model, also priced at $1,299.99, which employs a Tandem QD-OLED panel offering slight performance improvements over the current discounted unit.

What to watch

  • Retail inventory levels for the PG32UCDMR at Amazon.com, Inc. and Best Buy.
  • Release availability and commercial performance of Asus’s new Tandem QD-OLED model.
  • Future pricing trends for QD-OLED panels from competing manufacturers.
